# \<HwZone\_name>

As already described, a "hardware zone" is an area of a machine/cell that allows independent automatic/manual control. A hardware zone contains one or more sequences.

Functionality of the hardware zone:

* Determines the auto/manual status of the hardware zone.
* Provides a common enable command for all sequences within the hardware zone.
* Displays the auto/manual status of the hardware zone.
* Monitors "machine-unsafe" conditions related to the hardware zone and reports errors.
* Monitors non-critical alarms related to the hardware zone and reports warnings.

The number of sequences assigned to each hardware zone depends on the application.
