# 8.1 Einleitung: Warum eine neue Denkweise nötig ist

Die industrielle Steuerungstechnik ist in den letzten Jahrzehnten immer leistungsfähiger geworden.\
SPS-Systeme können heute Millionen Operationen pro Sekunde ausführen, Sensorik und Kommunikation sind digitalisiert, und Datenströme fließen bis in die Cloud.

Aber eines hat sich kaum verändert: **die Art, wie wir denken.**

Nach wie vor beschreiben Ingenieure das Verhalten von Maschinen mit Anweisungen – „wenn das, dann das“.\
Diese Vorgehensweise funktioniert, solange der Prozess einfach ist.\
Doch mit steigender Komplexität führt sie unweigerlich zu einem Punkt, an dem niemand mehr das Gesamtsystem vollständig versteht.\
Das Programm wird zum unüberschaubaren Netz aus Abhängigkeiten und Ausnahmen.

Selmo bricht genau diesen Kreislauf.\
Es ersetzt das Denken in Anweisungen durch das Denken in **Zuständen, Regeln und Verhalten**.\
Damit beginnt in der Steuerungstechnik eine neue Ära:\
**vom Programm zum Modell, vom Code zum Prozess, von der Logik zur Klarheit.**
