# 2.1 Das Grundprinzip der Architektur

Das Selmo-System besteht aus zwei sich ergänzenden Ebenen:

1. **Das Schaltwerk** – es ist die logische Ebene, die den Ablauf steuert.\
   Man kann es sich wie das Gehirn der Maschine vorstellen.\
   Hier wird entschieden, welcher Zustand aktiv ist und wann der nächste folgt.
2. **Der System-Layer (Zonenebene)** – er ist die Schnittstelle zur Realität.\
   Hier kommuniziert das Modell mit der physischen Welt – mit Tastern, Sensoren, Ventilen, Aktoren oder auch Softwarefunktionen.

Beide Ebenen bilden gemeinsam eine in sich geschlossene Einheit:\
Das **Schaltwerk** liefert die Zustandsinformation, die **Zonen** reagieren darauf mit den passenden Aktionen und Rückmeldungen.
