# Einleitung: Vom PTF zum Digitalen Zwilling

Der **Digitale Zwilling (DZ)** ist die **virtuelle Entsprechung** einer realen Maschine oder Anlage.\
Er dient dazu, **Verhalten, Steuerung, Kommunikation und Interaktion** zwischen Systemkomponenten schon vor der physischen Umsetzung zu testen und zu optimieren.

Im **Selmo-Kontext** ist der Digitale Zwilling die **logische Fortsetzung des PTF-Prozesses**:

* Der **PTF** liefert alle strukturierten und verifizierten Informationen über **Prozess**, **Technologie** und **Funktion**.
* Der **Digitale Zwilling** nutzt diese Informationen, um die **Maschine zu simulieren, zu emulieren oder zu verifizieren** – **noch vor der realen Inbetriebnahme**.

Damit wird der DZ zum Werkzeug für:

* **Soft-FAT** (Factory Acceptance Test in Simulation),
* **frühe Integration mit MES / ERP / IT-Systemen**, und
* **Training, Diagnose und Optimierung** im Lebenszyklus.
